Pictures from Sunday Night

Having a Rough Day

We are having kind of a rough day.We had a great night last night and Jude started waking up more and feeding better. This morning he had a hearing test, some labs and his circumcision. We found out his bilirubin is higher so he will be on a bili blanket while in hospital today while we are waiting to have the home bili blankets delivered. This is Jude under the hospital Bili Light (He isn't loving it under the light) Update later if we have the energy. Paul has been awesome! I don't know how we would do this without each other!!

things come to those who wait!

06:40AM Update

I was started on Pitocin this morning around 4 or 5am. My OB came by to check me. He said the baby will most likely be here within 5-6hrs. We will keep you posted!

4:15 AM Update

Finally got some pain meds after 10 hrs of consistent contractions. AROM'd around 0230. Going to get some rest.

41 weeks 3 Days Pregnant, STILL!

We had monitoring for 2 1/2 hours today non stress, amniotic fluid level, then contraction stress test. Apparently they don't feel comfortable with me not being monitored again until Monday. So we go back again tomorrow and the nurse said I will most likely be admitted if things are the same. So we are going home today. More news tomorrow.

This is the view of Newport Harbor from where I sat and had fetal monitoring today.

It was really overcast when we got to the hospital around 11am, but by the time we left at 1:30 it was starting to be a beautiful sunny and perfectly warm day.

Paul drove a different way when we left the hospital and I didn't know where we were going. Apparently he thought it would be funny to take me to the Big Belly Deli in Newport Beach. I felt a little self conscious there.

I've never been there before but I had a really good Turkey Sandwich on Focaccia, yummy!!

(It was HUGE though, and I couldn't eat it all, but I had to eat the dill pickle cuz i'm a pregnant lady it wouldn't be right to leave it, right?)

A lady at the Deli asked when my due date was. I told her last week:) She looked at me sympathetically.

Paul had to play an 80's video game, like a little kid he used all the quarters that I had in my purse:) I didn't mind.

Paul wanted to take a picture of me in front of the Deli, and I'm a whale. This kid needs to come out quick so I can lose 300 pounds.

41 Weeks and 2 Days

Well obviously i'm still pregnant because i'm still posting. I slept alot yesterday and then Paul went walking with me really late. We did almost 3 miles but my back was killing me so we came home.

With no swimming to look forward to it makes it hard to want to go walking in the heat so we are going later at night to avoid it!:)

No more staying up late for me. I think I broke a toe last night. What a dork!

Tomorrow we go for another NST and Amniotic Fluid Eval. I'm sure we'll pass and end up being pregnant for another at least 3 days.

Scheduled Induction is still on for June 30th at 7am!:) Think of us!

41 Weeks

I'M TIRED
So i'm 41 Weeks pregnant and i'm tired.

What a shocker.

ANTEPARTUM TESTING
We went for antepartum monitoring this morning at 8am. We packed the car up with everything we would need just in case I got admitted. (Doing this completely jinxed us) Just a non stress test for baby and amniotic fluid measurement this morning. Everything was fine so the RN said that I bought myself another 3 days of being pregnant. Yipee!!! So, I go in again on Thursday 6/25 for exactly the same stuff then again Monday 6/29. Did I mention I had to keep tickling his foot in order to get the NST done? He wouldn't move:)

FOOT
I know it sounds weird but his foot firmly planted on my left side pushing constantly is actually a really great and reassuring feeling:)

OB VISIT
Then I went to see my OB this afternoon.

SLEEP
Did I mention I slept from 10-3:30pm?

INDUCTION
I'm officially scheduled for Induction on 6/30. I never thought this kiddo might wait until July to be born. We'll see, maybe he will decide to come on his own before induction just because he is stubborn and wants things on his own terms:) I'll keep you updated!

MILES
In the meantime i'm going to see how many miles I can walk tonight:) So far i'm pretty exhausted after 3 miles.

NO MORE PREGNANT LADIES FLOATING:(
My OB says no more swimming:( I'm so bummed!

Afternoon Naps

I think I took at least a 3 hour nap today.
Woke up and it was dark.
I hate it when I do that.
Not that that has happened much in the last two years, things have been entirely too busy to take a moment for any rest. This week though I think i've fallen asleep twice on the couch, weird!

Now we are watching Cider House Rules from Netflix. How can I have not see this before? I think in the past I have seen bits and pieces of it, never the whole thing. So we are watching it now anyways.

Today I finally made something else for Jude, a camouflage bib and i'm working on a tie onesie that will hopefully bring lots of laughs and smiles.

Tomorrow i'm going to work on some smaller baby blankets with super soft minkee/minky on one side and plain cotton on the other. Should be some nice easy projects.

Oh and because I didn't feel like changing my thread tonight I also made a remote caddy because I still had black thread on my machine. I know, what a weirdo, would have taken me a lot less time to just change it and finish the tie onesie. :) Maybe i'll post a picture tomorrow.

Here is a picture of one of the onesies i'm working on, hope he'll fit into it!:)

What are we doing?

I drank about 1/2 gallon of OJ trying to get this baby to do his kick count. He must have been tired because of all the late nights we've been up watching movies, etc. So the lack of sleep probably just caught up to him. He just wasn't moving so I drank tons of OJ and Cold water (Both which usually have him kicking up a storm). Then he finally started kicking between 8-8:15. Thank God!

I haven't felt like doing much lately, Paul and I took a late walk tonight and only went about 1 mile. LAZY!! Then watched some more Netflix.

I think amidst all the horror stories about pregnancy that everyone has been more than willing to share with me during my pregnancy (To make me ultra paranoid and extremely hormonal) and all the other unwanted advice and scary stories noone thought to mention that..

Most 1st babies are commonly delivered OVERDUE?
Is that true? Give me your input on that one.
We thought for sure this kid was coming before we could manage to get everything ready (I know, I know, everyone feels that way) and now I feel like we are sitting around waiting.

The anticipation is literally killing me and i'm sure it's killing Paul too. I don't even bother to tell Paul even when I have some big contractions even if they are regular because ultimately they always go away and there is no sense in getting him all excited about me going into labor because I feel like it will NEVER happen. I wonder what the world record for length of pregnancy is? I know a few people I know have gone up to 42 weeks and I pray that I don't have to go that long!

On another note the only semi-productive thing I did today was put together Aiden's Crayon Roll....In camo of course......

Pregnant Ladies Float

Today was a wonderful, mild summer day. Not too hot, not too cold. We got a break from June Gloom today, the sunshine was just what I needed.

I checked the weather early this morning and weather.com said that it would be cloudy today here with temp in the 60's and I was bummed. I really wanted to go swimming today. I ended up going to sleep really late in the morning and then just slept a little into the day. I woke up to the construction workers applying stucco to the new townhomes being built outside our door. Thanks Danielle for warning me about how noisy that is, I have been watching the construction progress and anticipating the noise.

I got up and Paul and I went for a walk, only a mile, my back hurt too much from overcompensating for my belly today. When i've been walking lately 3 miles is usually not a problem now that my sciatica has mostly become intermittent with the baby repositioning himself.

It was fairly hot today though so we went straight home after walking and changed for the pool. The pool was awesome, especially since I feel like my belly is so big it could not possibly get bigger and my feet just started swelling really bad last week!

When we got to the pool Paul said "Let's not have any impromptu water births while we're here". At the pool Paul was laughing at me since I like to just float on my back in the pool and now my belly is a huge bump sticking up out of the water. As I was floating in the pool with my ears under water I was imagining how loud it is for Jude all the time in his little swimming pool:) We are definately going to use some of Karp's methods for calming crying when he decides to be born. Paul can't wait to use the loud shhhhhhhhhhhh technique:)

FYI Pregnant ladies float:) As evidenced by this funny picture of my belly poking out of the water.

40 Weeks Pregnant

So it looks like Jude's Due Date will come and go and he has decided to be fashionably late. I guess he wants to wait until everyone else has showed up and the party has started. :) Oh well! The Facts: Less than 4-5% of women actually deliver on their due date. 50% of women deliver within a week of their due date. 90% of women have their baby no later than 2 weeks after their due date.

Jude's First Blanket

This brown baby blanket will be great when Jude finally arrives! I used a sweet quilting print i've had and loved for a long time and just haven't used with a super soft minkee/minky back:)Here is a picture:

Took forever to pin and forever to sew with soft batting between. Paul had to help me with laying out the layers so many times because my bowling ball belly makes it really difficult for me to cut and lay out fabric for large projects:) What a good hubby, he helped me with literally no complaining.

If you are interested in sewing one of these blankets they are very easy to sew. You just need to decide what size blanket you want to make and pick a nice soft cotton (quilting ones often have cute prints) cut to the size you want then choose a soft minky as a backing and cut slightly larger than the cotton. Here is a tutorial that basically explains the manner in which I constructed my blanket, only difference is that I added batting for more substance. Minky Blanket Tutorial

Car Seat Blanket or Tent

So this is my first attempt at making a Car Seat Tent / Blanket. For use so that when the baby actually sleeps he can stay sleepy getting in and out of the car and while running errands, etc. The Camo pattern makes me laugh!:)

Here is the link for the Car Seat Tent Tutorial: Car Seat Tent Tutorial

I did make some modifications to the tent, it is not as wide as the tutorial states to go, it is actually 32" wide instead of 37" (I used fabric I already had so I had to make due with what I had) but it really doesn't matter and I didn't make the oval they talk about. I just rounded the corners, it is just easier and more exact that way:)
